Buznet Terms of Service

Welcome to Buznet! We appreciate your interest in our smart home automation services. By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Service Description
Buznet provides home automation installation and support services, including but not limited to smart lighting, plugs, cameras, and ceiling fan automation. Our services are designed to enhance the convenience, efficiency, and security of your home.

2. Service Eligibility
Ownership and Consent: To utilize Buznet’s services, you must either own the property where the installation will occur or have explicit consent from the property owner. If you are not the owner, a signed letter of consent from the property owner must be provided before any services can commence. This letter should authorize the installation of Buznet’s smart home devices and acknowledge the owner's agreement to the terms of service.

Electrical Compliance Responsibility: As the client, you are responsible for ensuring that all existing electrical connections and infrastructure in your property are compliant with local and national electrical codes and standards. Before installation, it is imperative to have your electrical systems checked and certified by a qualified electrician to confirm they are safe and meet regulatory requirements.

Liability for Non-Compliant Electrical Systems: Buznet will not be held responsible for any damage, loss, or injury that occurs as a result of existing electrical connections or infrastructure being non-compliant with the required standards. Our installation services assume that your property’s electrical system is in good standing and capable of supporting the smart home devices safely. If during the installation process it is discovered that the existing electrical systems are not compliant, Buznet reserves the right to halt the installation until compliance is achieved. Any necessary repairs or upgrades to achieve compliance will be at the client’s expense and must be completed before installation can proceed.

3. Payment Terms
Payment for Buznet services and products is required in advance. The total cost will be agreed upon before the commencement of services. Any additional services or products requested beyond the initial agreement will be subject to separate billing and agreement.

4. Installation
Installation will be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time. You must provide safe and reasonable access to your property for Buznet technicians to perform the installation. You are responsible for ensuring that the installation area is free from hazards.

Pre-Installation Assessment: Before installation, a comprehensive assessment of your property will be conducted to determine the optimal smart home solutions. This ensures that the proposed system aligns with your home's layout and your specific needs.

Scheduling and Access: Installation dates and times will be scheduled in advance and require your agreement. You must provide Buznet technicians with safe and unobstructed access to the installation areas. Failure to provide access as scheduled may result in additional charges for rescheduling.

Client Presence: You or an authorized representative must be present during the installation to approve the placement and setup of devices.

Installation Process: Our technicians will perform the installation with care, adhering to industry standards and safety regulations. We will make every effort to minimize disruption and maintain the cleanliness of your property.

Electrical Compliance: Any changes to your electrical system during installation will be done in compliance with local electrical codes. You may need to obtain a certificate of compliance (COC) for electrical work, which Buznet can arrange at an additional cost.

Post-Installation Inspection: Upon completion of the installation, a thorough inspection will be conducted to ensure all devices are functioning correctly and integrated into your smart home system.

Training and Handover: After installation, Buznet will provide you with a comprehensive training session on how to use and manage your new smart home system. This includes guidance on controlling devices, setting up automations, and understanding the functionality of your smart home ecosystem.

Property Integrity: We respect your property and strive to maintain its integrity. However, some installations may require alterations, such as drilling or changes to existing structures. We will inform you of these requirements in advance and proceed only with your consent.

Animal Safety: The safety of your pets and our technicians is a priority. Please ensure pets are secured during the installation process. Buznet reserves the right to reschedule the installation if there are safety concerns related to animals on the premises.

Infrastructure Requirements: Buznet is responsible for installing and setting up smart devices. Any necessary structural changes or wiring should be completed prior to installation. Buznet does not provide major electrical or construction services.

Client Acknowledgment: By agreeing to these installation terms, you acknowledge understanding the scope of work and consent to the necessary procedures and potential alterations to your property for the installation of the smart home system.

Existing Property Conditions and Damage Prevention

Assessment of Existing Conditions: Before initiating any installation work, Buznet will conduct a thorough inspection of the property to assess existing conditions and identify any potential risks or areas of concern. This assessment will help in planning the installation to avoid any damage to the property.

Preventive Measures: Buznet takes proactive steps to minimize the risk of damage during the installation process. Protective coverings may be used to shield floors, walls, and furniture from dust or debris. Technicians will use best practices and tools designed to prevent damage to your property, such as using non-invasive techniques for installing devices and managing cables.

Client Communication: If there is a risk of potential damage (e.g., drilling into walls for mounting devices or running cables), Buznet will communicate this to the client beforehand. The client will be informed of the necessary actions and any potential risks, and consent will be obtained before proceeding with such activities.

Handling of Pre-existing Damages: In cases where existing damages or vulnerabilities are identified during the assessment, Buznet will inform the client and document these findings. Buznet is not responsible for pre-existing damages but will make every effort to avoid exacerbating these conditions during the installation process.

Post-Installation Inspection: After the installation is complete, a final inspection will be conducted in the presence of the client to ensure that no new damage has occurred. Any discrepancies or issues will be addressed promptly.

5. Equipment and Warranty
Buznet guarantees that all installed equipment will function as described and be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 30 days from the installation date. This warranty does not cover damages resulting from user error, neglect, or external factors outside of Buznet’s control.

30-Day Installation Guarantee: Buznet provides a 30-day guarantee on the installation workmanship. If any issues related to the installation arise within this period, we will address and resolve them at no additional cost to you.

Product Warranty: The smart devices installed by Buznet come with a manufacturer's warranty, which typically covers defects in materials and workmanship for a specified period. Buznet will assist in facilitating any warranty claims with the manufacturer on behalf of the client.

Exclusions: The warranty does not cover damages resulting from external causes such as accidents, abuse, misuse, liquid contact, fire, earthquake, or other external forces. It also excludes damages caused by operating the product outside its intended use, or failure to follow the product instructions.

Repair and Replacement: During the warranty period, defective products will either be repaired or replaced. The decision between repair and replacement will be made at Buznet’s discretion, based on the nature of the defect and the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty.

No Liability for Consequential Damages: Buznet is not liable for any incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use of the smart devices, including but not limited to any loss of revenue, loss of actual or anticipated profits, loss of the use of money, loss of business or missed opportunities, loss of goodwill, or reputation.

Warranty Service Process: To initiate a warranty service, contact Buznet with a detailed description of the issue. We may conduct diagnostic tests remotely or require the device to be sent to us for inspection. If the product is determined to be under warranty, we will proceed with the repair or replacement process.

Post-30-Day Warranty Service: For service requests outside the 30-day installation guarantee period, Buznet will charge a standard callout fee and labor rate for removing, installing, and programming devices. Clients are responsible for these charges, as they fall outside the initial warranty period.

Supplier Warranty Responsibility: Buznet does not carry the warranty responsibility for the products supplied. The manufacturer or supplier of the product provides the warranty, and Buznet will facilitate the warranty process. However, the ultimate responsibility for honoring the product warranty lies with the manufacturer or supplier. Buznet will assist in the communication and logistics between the client and the supplier to resolve warranty issues, but is not liable for the fulfillment of the supplier's warranty terms

Out-of-Warranty Service: If a product is found to be out of warranty or the issue is not covered by the warranty, we will provide an estimate of the repair or replacement cost. Any out-of-warranty service will be chargeable to the client.

Warranty Transfer: The warranty is only valid for the original purchaser of the product and is not transferable.

Modifications and Updates: Buznet reserves the right to modify the warranty terms at any time. However, any changes will not affect the terms of the warranty for products that were purchased before the changes were made.

6. Cancellations and Refunds
Services canceled by the client less than 48 hours before the scheduled installation time may incur a cancellation fee. If you are not satisfied with the installation service, please contact Buznet within 30 days for resolution. Refunds for services or products are at the discretion of Buznet, subject to assessment of the claim.

7. Privacy and Data Protection
Buznet is committed to protecting your privacy. We will only collect, use, and disclose your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We will not share your personal information with third parties without your consent, except as required for the provision of our services or as required by law.

8. Limitation of Liability
Buznet’s liability for any claim related to these terms of service, including but not limited to installation, shall not exceed the total amount paid by the client for the services. Buznet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Changes to Terms of Service
Buznet reserves the right to modify these terms of service at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting on our website or through other communication channels.

10. Governing Law
These terms of service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where Buznet operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
